Default x-post, Anyone interested in a '87 951 project?

I just picked up a '00 S4 and even I can't justify having 3 sports cars. I originally thought I would sell the rx-7, but I'm thinking to upgrade the 951 the way I want is more of a project than I need.

'87 951
Located in Modesto, CA
86k'ish miles (Odo reads 686k or something strange like that)
black/black
Cup Wheels
968 mirrors
Lindsey IC Pipes, FPR, FP Gauge, BOV, Fuel Pump, and wastegate
B&B Test Pipe (Stock cat included)
Guru Stage 2 map kit with programmer (stock AFM included)
Jet-hot coated exhaust manifolds
9xauto.com Short Shifter
9xauto.com dash light "upgrade"

The bad:

Had a repaint at some time in it's life. Looks good cleaned up, but far from perfect.
Normal electrical gremlins. Gauges hop around a bit, but probably just a ground issue
Both seats are cracked. 2 small cracks on dash.
Leaks a little oil. Could use front and rear seals.
Needs new CV joints
Guru Map kit could use some tuning, but it starts and runs fine.
Shifter is sloppy, but gear-changes are clean.

It really needs someone who has space in the garage and time to replace all the seals. I'll include all new coolant hoses and belts. I've used it as a daily driver since I bought it over a year ago and it only left me stranded once (bad AFM). It's been in the garage for 4 weeks while I have been trying to decide if I want to go with a 2.8 upgrade.

I can't think of anything else right now, but if someone is interested, let me know and we can talk price.

Matt, Can you give me an idea of a pricing area you are interested in? You can send me a private email and maybe something can be worked out. Phil

To answer a couple of emails first...

Power windows
Aftermarket alarm, w/ power locks, motion sensor, and FM transmitter
Lindsey Engine Mounts included, but not installed
Sunroof Gears are stripped
LCD clock is slowly starting to "wash", but so far only the bottom left corner is gone
Power Seats
Kenwood XDC-859 Deck, upgraded speakers, and 2 "stealth" sub's for the back. Amp won't be sold with car.
Passenger side power mirror doesn't work. Just a connection problem and I never fixed it.

Mike,

I know the car needs some TLC, but I think I have a fair idea of the value. I'll throw a 2.8 in it and use it for the track if I can't find a buyer.

I was thinking:

As is, with mods, in-dash, subs, etc, $7500
No mods (wheels stay on car) or stereo, $6000

If it's still around in 6 months, it will probably have a Lindsey motor in it, so the price might go up a bit.

Regards,
I'll remove the Guru Stage 2 kit, chips, Test Pipe, Hard pipes, Bypass valve, Fuel Pump, and MBC

Stock parts will go back on.

I'll leave on the Lindsey wastegate and jethot coated exhaust manifolds.

Can't afford yet, grrr - but something I'd seriously want if I had the money right now, sigh.

Good luck with it! My boyfriend's dad lives up there, right by you, in Merced, so we go up that way periodically.

A buddy of mine lives down in Merced, so I make the trip once in a while.

Let me know if something changes and you are interested.

$6500 with everything, but the subs and in-dash.

Any takers? Last chance before I start ordering parts for a built motor.
