I added ABS sensor relief cuts to these as my mock-up spindles have them....
The dust shields need only about 1/4" of their edges trimmed if they are used...

Here is the old setup beside the new setup. Hard to tell with the naked eye and crappy cell phone pics, but the newer larger brake setup is on the right.

Then slip the centering ring on the hub:

Confirm the rotor fits:

Caliper next, just need some longer bolts to hold the adapter to the spindle.

Your a little late to the party.

There was a guy in Europe (http://www.9products.com) making those ring adapters along with 993GT3 caliper adapters. I used them to use 996 GT3 MK2 brake rotors on 951 hubs. Worked great except that when you take off the wheels, there's nothing really holding it all together. You sort have to pay attention to it. But overall it worked good.

The front setup worked great. The rear was all off... I ended up having to machine the calipers to use their adapters.

That's actually the origin of the thread. I was a little nervous buying a Finnish product through a UK supplier via Canada. Rob's name came up over and over again on the forums in regards to brake swaps, so I reached out to see if he could offer something. The price was fair, communication and speed were top notch.

Yes, and the write-up on their product highlights this now..."The brake calipers need to be modified in a machine shop. Contact sales for additional information concerning the modification."

Rob is more than qualified and a good guy that's "local" to us here in the USA. So yeah... makes sense.

I think I had to machine like 12.5mm (from memory) off of the rear caliper mounting pads. Not a big deal but it's tough to mount a caliper easily to cut the pads down.

I was putting Cayenne rotors on these cars as far back as '06. Good luck finding a cheaper replacement rotor. That's what most track guys complain about. The 928 GTS rotors are uber $ and getting harder to find as well.

This is the key. Cayenne rotors are cheaper than stock 951 rotors. The bigger pads for the front don't cost any more than stock sized pads. Cheaper consumables = better. For street driving its not an issue, if you're tracking your car every couple of weeks during the summer, your wear increases exponentially.

Has anybody ever attempted to mount Big Yellows and PCCB rotors? I would be very interested in attempting this.

Rob: Care to make some adaptors to make this possible?
