Default A.C. wiring connector advice

So, I have been trying to reconnect the wire from the compressor to the harness. The problem is that there is a rectangular plastic insulation piece that I guess protects the wiring junction. I don't know if it's just old and deformed or what, but I can't get the compressor wire terminal end to plug into the harness end. I'm ready to cut the end of the wires and reconnect them.

What is the best and safest way to do that, without just hard wiring the two together?

I'm looking for advice on the safest and most durable solution that allows the compressor to continue to be easily unplugged from the harness end.

Thanks!

A lot of custom guys are using these connectors in the engine bay. This one maybe for thinner wires(?) but they are made for many different AWG cables

get some of the "weather protected" quick disconnects, its like a normal one but the plastic insulation covers the whole terminal not just the crimped end.

but how often do you really intend to need to disconnect the compressor?

Surprisingly, more than you would think. I've had to do it 4 times over the last 12 years, for whatever reason. Thanks for the idea on those!

I replaced the AC compressor on my 968 a few months back....and used those type connectors, retrofitted them to the new compressor. Full thread here with lots of pictures:
