Maybe it's using kerbs, controlling stiffer springs and the heavier braking. You wouldn't drive as hard for as long on the street.

yeah though your suspension is still working while going over bumps, turns ect.

I don't know either. I initially set the bump and rebound to what someone said was a good trackday setup, on smooth roads it was great, on bumpy roads it's too harsh. I suppose you'd just put up with it on a bumpy track.

You get more weight transfer at the track... full braking and full acceleration... plus full cornering g-forces.

Also, you're hitting bumps at 2x or more the speed you hit them in street driving.

All of this will make the shocks cycle more and heat up the fluid more.

Not only does the hot fluid break down over time and lose it's properties, but shock oil is also hydroscopic, like brake fluid, meaning it attracts moisture.
