Default New Website and Register for the 944 Turbo S

I hope this is allowed on Rennlist? It is not a paid website, I've just set it up to try to collate as many Turbo S cars worldwide as possible.

Please have a look and give me any thoughts you have. There is still a bit if tweaking to do on it.

We hope to get UK, European and USA Turbo S cars registered on the site and in time hopefully the Register will grow and become a source of information for owners.

www.944silverrose.co.uk or www.944turbo-s.co.uk

There is a forum which is aimed more at technical help and a photo gallery of the cars so please join and add any Turbo S pictures you

Hi Phil

Only the Turbo S as there are a smaller number of cars and the VIN range is specific.

I may look at other 944 models going forward but as this is a new idea I want to get it working properly first before I try to anything bigger

Did you gain permission from Porsche to reproduce and sell copies of their original brochures ?

The printer checked the copyright on the brochure before going ahead and was told it was ok to proceed.

I know of one silver rose car that was in an accident and parted out. I have it's AOR transmission, torque tube, front hubs and spindles. Sad but good fortune for me.

Yes there was a Turbo S Register on Geocities but it was last updated in about 2000 so it's 14 years out of date....

Unless you know of a newer one?

Hopefully the website I've set up will have more information and over time we can grow the knowledge of the cars as there are still a few myths out there

I will then probably start a register for MY90 & 91 cars that, combined together, are fewer than all the turbo S made.

Maybe not myths, more finding out the different variations of cars that were built

Number of cars sold worldwide
Colours that were sold
Differences in the M758 Option Code and the fact that some cars didn't have the Option code on their build sticker, but are definitely Turbo S cars due to the VIN and Engine numbers
Original Silver Rose cars with different specs for different countries (No Sunroof in RoW, Heated Seats in Germany etc., cruise control in the US)

There will be more and hopefully over time we can build up more information.
