Lightbulb Fuel Injectors

I was wondering who makes good injectors and also what is a good upgrade? I drive my car daily so I don't want only 12 mpg but still want a kick. Also, how much are the stock injectors, lb/hr or what ever??

Delphi make injectors suitable for 951's, you can get them through Guru / Danno for a reasonable price. The stock injectors are 32 or 37 lbs/hr, I forget which. Just because you go with bigger injectors doesnt mean that you have to have bad fuel economy. If you go with bigger injectors you just need to ensure that your choice of engine management system is capable of adjusting the injector duty cycle to ensure that you have the optimum fuel mixture under varying engine conditions.

I have Siemens 55# on my 3.0 and MAF. Had no problem with CO measurement (Environment control) ( It measured 0.9 and the limit was 2.5).

The WB lamda sensor showed around 14.4.

Bigger injectors won't give you any more performance. The stock (37 lb/hr) injectors can be used up to over 300 rwhp depending on the fuel pressure regulator. Buy a set of guru chips as first performance upgrade. That's all what you need/want/desire (until you want more , and more, and more ....).

Can get 450 cc injectors from 1990-1999 DSM cars, for about 100$ used, tested.

The forumlae is 10.5 * lb/hr = cc/min.

I used to carry both Siemens and Delphi and had custom fuel-curves for both. However, at the larger flow-rates of 65#/hr and higher, the Siemens couldn't keep up. Also the atomization on the single-nozzle injectors at the higher flow volumes are poor. This is why some people say that idle is unstable with larger injectors. It's not that the larger injector is difficult to control, it's that a large percentage of the fuel metered comes out a liquid. The 6-hole nozzle on the Delphis do a much better job of atomizing fuel and I've had no problems with idle using 84-lb/hr injectors.

You many also check with the engineers at RC-Engineering who've disassembled every brand of injectors out there. They'll tell you that the quality of the disc-type injectors are heads above all the others. Siemens are common and are carried by a lot of vendors because they are the cheapest ones to buy on the wholesale market. I can make an extra $100 per set of injectors if I sold Siemens instead of Delphis, but I find that the performance of the Delphis are superior.
