The bar on my car is identical to this bar, it is one of 2 made by Admiralkhole. It is similar in function to the dynatech bar. I can not see what is so special about that bar, or why they are worth so much. For the record, my bar unbolts on either side and swings out from the mount in about 30 seconds, not a big deal when trying to work on the car.

Why would you pay big money, when you can buy a KLA and be just as functional for $100

I am not a young kid and I am not broke. I like nice stuff that is rare or different. As I posted previously, the RD bar I am spiffing up will "function" just fine, but won't look as good doing it. It also is not as easy to remove when servicing things. Sooner or later I will get the one I want. That one Doug posted looks pretty interesting.

I have the D9 on my FL car both upper and lower. That is also a nice piece and surprised nobody else has mentioned or shown it. The function is very nice and figment was great. It is not as pretty as the dynatech though.

From a pure minimal perspective (which would lend itself to racing only) That stock cup bar would probably be preferred ?

But, from both a form and function perspective, then I think most might choose the Dynatech ... ?
Yes, they were expensive $325.00 (maybe 2 x the price of some cheap steel bar) but now they have gotten much more so, because they are not available anymore.
They were very well made, adjustable and lightweight ... Oh and a work of art .... Pretty hard to beat ...
IMHO....

Here is the D9 bar, simple and effective with zero mounting issues. It is not as pretty as the DT bar though.

Finished up the bar today and as I said on FB for all the nay Sayers: Bah Ha Ha Ha! For $100 and some elbow grease I am pretty damn happy with this bar. Almost zero install issues, had it installed in about 10 minutes. I will go buy some flange nuts. That is about it. It does not rub the bottom of the hood either.

Looks good!

The trouble i had with mine is that the strut bar mounting flange is so thick that i could barely get the nuts to thread. it really needs longer studs but it's been on there for quite a while with no issues.

Did you have this same problem?

Just took care of that, properly sized self locking Flange Nuts M8X1.25mm for those that want to know. $1.23 at the hardware store.

I could take into my machine shop at work and counter sink the holes on an end mill, but I really don't feel it is necessary. Maybe for a track car.

yeah, i did the same thing with those nuts as there's really no room for a washer. however, it's still just grabbing the end threads. good thing there are 4 bolts per mount instead of 2 like some other cars.

the studs are actually pressed in and can be replaced. they are not permanently attached as they appear to be. the proper way to fix would be to use longer studs but sourcing might be a little more troublesome. one of these days i'll do it, probably when i switch to my front bilstein cups as it's a lot of work just to remove the mounts to fit longer studs.

it is a beautiful bar, i have to admit. and i know that doesn't make it better but it just also has that purely industrial, mechanical look which makes my eyes happy. and it is amazingly lightweight too.

I agree about replacing the studs. That doesn't sound too difficult, maybe I will do that. On mine the studs are 3/4 through the nut and that is a tall nut.
