Harry:

Sounds like a good idea! I have some clay that I can use. I will mock it up before I weld it. I will make the necessary mods to work correctly without rubbing. Then I will make it Shiny!!!

i have seen those particular bars crack at the welds. It has been documented here before. Look out for that. It shouldn't rub. if it does then your monuts are weak and need to be replaced.

My MM are nearly new, so should not be a problem. There is no signs of any cracking on this bar and the welds look nice and beefy. I will do a search on this bar and read about the cracking issue.

My search did not find anything so far on cracking issues. I also could not find anything showing any rubbing where my bar has the two dings. I did find several posts about fitment issues near the camber plates. I can remedy this quickly if need be. All in all, looks good to go for the refurb and use it until I can locate the ultra illusive Dynatech bar. That is what I have been waiting for, but they seldom show up.

Why would I look at my balance shafts? My tranny mount is new. My car is near perfect condition. I am very meticulous.

Recently purchased one of these. Mine does not rub

It is kind of a pita tho as I work on my car and having to unbolt a strut to remove kinda sux. Thinking of swapping to something that is more easily removed

mine doesn't rub but the fitment was horrible and the bar is not very well made. of course, that being said, it is such a great mod that you will feel when throwing the car into corners. i love mine once i got it installed. and it looks nicer than most but wish they put a little more thought into the manufacturing and fitment. of course, every car is different...

good luck.

I had one a while ago - with new motor mounts (the engine will sit high up) it did rub on the hood - but just a little. After time I had similar wear marks.
The bar is not adjustable and to get to the engine to do any work the bar has to be removed and the drivers side strut fasteners undone. That's why I got rid of mine - it made it more difficult to pull the intake manifold or do any other engine work.

BTW - you can see the hood insulation pattern on your bar...so it was very close to the hood!

I am sure it is. I didn't mean to offend. its just everything counts when it comes to lower clearance.

Thanks to all for the input! This is just temporary until somebody hopefully let's loose of a Dynatech bar. If and when I find one, I will swap it out. I tried to pry it out of Darwin's hands, but he would not budge!

Chris:

Since you worked on Darwin's car, what did you think of the Dynatech Bar?

Anybody know why they went under? The bar looks far superior to the rest.
