Why such narrow wheels? You can probably fit 12's up front and 13's in the rear

Agreed, you have more than sufficient for 275s in front and 315s in back. If you go to some one like CCW for your wheels they will try to talk you into a 315 square set up.

Do you know of anyone running a 315 square set up?

Tony G ran 315's all round on the old car. Roy Chong runs 315's up front and some skinny little 335s out back! Steamroller baby!!

Yes, you are right but I do not have enough power for this kind of size...
With 305RWHP and 2500lbs, I need to generate enough temperature to keep sticky tires efficient.
I will start with 255 front and 285 rear.
The 255 R6 is as wide as the 275 and the 285 R6 is as wide as the 295... and the diameters are perfect.
I will check the temperatures and may go to 285 front and 315 rear.

Do not forget that I decided to do this build after my crash…
Repair and weight were the priorities. The wider body is a plus for future developments… :-)

Good question!
I started on the track 2 years ago with a stock 951, had a lot of fun to modify my car and more fun on the track with my friends (DE with Rennport).
I will pass my licence in 2 weeks and I will see. I may find an interesting class with my car or start with the 944 cup and buy a good race ready SP2 for it.
For now my priority is to spend my time with my kids and share the same passion with them on karts and dirt bikes. 6, 11 and 15 years old boys can keep you very busy... ;-)

Then, I decided to build a full front nose...
I attached the front bumper, the header panel and the front fenders together. I removed, prepared all of the edges and laminated it with fiberglass from the inside. I have to tell you this kind of job is tricky in a 10x20 garage...

What is the purpose of fiberglassing all the front parts together? would love to see detailed pics on how you attach everything (especially the dzus).

My damn engineer brain started kicking in last week thinking that I could make my own fiberglass molds and carbon fiber parts. I mean, how hard could it be

The advantage of the 1 piece nose is, well, it's 1 piece. Take it off and get easy access to various parts of the car. Only downside is storage of a large piece of f/glass. I think the upsides win though!

With the wheels/tyre sizes, I reckon as long as you can space them out to increase your trackwidth you'll get a nice advantage over the stock body width. Agreed on not going super crazy oversized rubber just yet. Are you going to run splitter/wing?

Patrick is right. One piece is more simple.
It is simple, clean and you have no alignment, fitting problemes, multiple screws and brackets, vibrations and gaps between each part,...

You can build your own parts, but it will be more expensive than buying your parts from IFC. You should contact Mike Warner at IFC and ask him for a quote. The fit and finish is the best out there so you can add fiber parts step by step with your budget.
