I think I need to pull the intake manifold and go through all the damn hoses; I'm not sure if I have a leak or not, and the uncertainty is driving me nuts!
So I was thinking that since I'm going to go through them anyway, why wouldn't I do some preventive maintenance? Enter the vacuum hose kit I spotted on Lindsey web site. Soo.... anybody have it? Comments? $30 doesn't seem like too much...

It works great. You get more then enough vacuum hoses and 5 brass T fittings, and you wont get the 30' of hose for much cheaper then this. You may still need the larger hoses for the idle stabilizer, the cycling valve, and pluming for the crank case vent.

I've used the kit, it's nice and has more than enough tees and hose. There's still the matter of all the large hoses under the intake manifold you'll have to address if you're going full out on hose replacement. Be sure to use the diagram Lindsey sends to double check the routing.
In my case the car had an engine replaced sometime in the last few years, apparently done by an incompetent mechanic. Most of the small vac lines were misrouted in some way, and even some of the larger ones. How's this for scary: the wastegate wasn't even connected to the cycling valve, it was plumbed into the heater/vac reservior(!?). (Maybe I really had some super secret manual boost control via the climate control, hmm)

I'm picking mine up from the UPS centre today... I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow
.
The reason I'm replacing mine is because when I tried to repair a leak, things just started crumbling from heat cycling. Hopefully reattaching the heating vacuum hose will let me shut off my heat!

Are you guys talking about the blue vacuum hoses? I have these on my MBC and FPR. I like them, however I heard that you want stiffer hoses, like the ones the factory supplies. Any thoughts?

Sam....
Get the lindsey hoses (plenty of hose, nice brass fittings) .... and also the updated hoses that removes the octopus under the intake.... 951-110-223-01 , 951-110-221-00 , 951-110-217-01 and you will be good to go! The hoses under the intake if they are the original are so brittle it is not even funny.
Also tie wrap your vaccuum hoses especially on the boost side. My vaccum hoses were being blown off as well.
JustinL - When I get back from my trip we will get together and maybe have a dyno day.
See you in two weeks.

Velvet951, the silicone hoses come in various wall thicknesses. If you use thin wall you can collapse it under vacuum and shut off vacuum from that point on. But if you use heavy wall hose you will be OK, just check the vacuum rating of the hose before you buy it.

The hose kit is nice but, you still need the bigger hoses. Ask Dave, he got me all the hoses. He can get you the upgraded hose kit for the idle stabilizer. Dave does ship fast, same day or next day. He has overnighted things for me too.

I ordered my Lindsey set yesterday as well - this new info about the other larger hoses means I have to order again - is there any specific part/item number for those? Or will the people at Lindsey Racing know what I'm asking for?
Thanks
