Default Plastex Plastic Repair Kit

I have posted about this on FB, but since some have given up on that site I might as well post it here as well. This is more of a testimonial on a product that worked as advertised. I needed to repair a broken tab on my 3-Spoke Tiptronic wheel. The tab was completely missing when the wheel arrived. The replacement switch which contains some embedded sensors is nearly $700 from Sunset. That was a no go, so I used this stuff I bought at SEMA a long time ago. I must say it worked perfectly and I am sure many of you would have a use for this kit. It includes a reusable "mold" that gets very soft when boiled in water and then hardens up at room temp. Please see pics below:

Looks like great stuff and easy to work with if your not all thumbs. Question is just where can one buy this same kit? I'd like to have a kit on hand just because.

Answered my question.

Managed to knock out the machine work on the end mill last night, came out pretty nice. Hope to have it mounted this weekend.

Part for connection to stereo has yet to arrive, going to install it first without this functionality.

What head unit are you using? I recently did a similar installation on my E32 740i but with a Kenwood receiver, which allowed me to hard wire the connection from the adapter to the receiver.

It's much more responsive/reliable than the IR solution I have with my Blaupunkt receiver, I suspect I'll be swapping it out for something else here soon in the 951.

I have the latest and greatest Alpine, CDE-149BT. I have no idea if it has the Kenwood feature you are referring too. I will have to ask my car audio guy. That would be nice if it did. I know the BT operation from IPhone works great.

I think you'll be good to go with the Alpine deck. Most decks these day have a hard wired rempote option, my Blau just has an external IR "eyeball" that's not as responsive as I'd like.

I think this is the little gem that I need to complete this project.

Sounds like the right one and I have the correct RCA Jack in the back of my HU.
