Default AOS Relocation

Hi all,

As i'm almost finished with the header (check for pics in my topic) i'm looking at relocation my AOS. There are the Moroso AOS units that connect to a AN12 connector so it big enough and with a T-section on the suction part you can also get a second one in the head.

Just have to make a kind of adaptorplate with 2 plugs into the block with some thread on the other end where i can screw a hose on.

Has this been done before? If so, has anyone got any pictures of this?

Ofcourse i mean the entire relocation of the AOS, not just the relocation of the oil filler pipe!

Thanks!

I just finished doing something like this. I'll try to get a pic posted up in awhile. I took an aluminum fitting and machined it down to fit into the holes and also machined in an orinf groove. Then welded a tab to hold them in place. I forget what AN size it is. Probably s -12 iirc.

Precisely Scott! This gives me a good idea on what to fabricate! Thanks a lot! Although i'm curious about what other people have used as a replacement for their AOS!

Check out this photo from Snapbucket: http://pbckt.com/pz.JHPB9i

Just checking to see if this link works. Otherwise I'll have to log in via laptop.

Edit; looks like it does. Please forgive my welds. I was just using scrap and it didn't like it.. Lol

That is exactly what i meant!

I'll probably make one from stainless.. But the welds will not look much better.. ;-)

How dit you fabricate it? Did you get a thick walled pipe and did you machine all of it or did you get a threaded bus and did you use a lathe to get the outer wall off and make the groove in it to get the rubber ring in it?

Do you have any measurements?

It's a pipe connector I got from Dave Novak. I started with a stainless piece but for the bottom hole the aluminum one worked better as it is thicker and just needed to be turned down a little to fit into the hole. I then turned in a groove for the o ring.

I am going to use a stainless piece for the upper hole unless Dave gets me a smaller aluminum part to start with. The problem with stainless is that it is thinner wall, so turning a groove is a bit tough without going all the way through.

I have asked him what these pieces are and I'm awaiting a response. I would imagine that they are just a high end pipe coupler.

I didn't write down the measurements as I was just figuring as I went.

Spencer, yeah I could pretty easily. I'll post something in my thread once I get the whole system set up.

I'd have to look at photobucket. You may be able to browse through my photo bucket and find it, along with a lot of others. User name is "mojospops"
