Here you go Lart. Perhaps you should sit down with a stiff drink before you read some of these!

Ok, so here's the plan....we'll pick up half dozen 2010 Caymans for around 240k, ship to you Patrick to broker (commissioned of course) and we turn those puppies in to 900k!!! The possibilities....

Slight hurdle. Even if we could get around the Govt's import tax of about 100% (to protect our local industry...this is an inside joke for the Aussies) your steering wheels are on the wrong side. Pity!

I'm told our average wage is somewhere in the $70k mark but not sure how indicative this is of real life. Wish I was on that....

There are very strict laws here about importing *modern* cars, and no way around them. Basically unless you have bucket loads of money and can buy your dream car over seas, and then live there for a year with it, and then after you pay some more getting it approved(and bought down here), then and only then, can you bring in anything made in about the last 25 years or so.

Some of you guys don't realise how good you have it with car pricing(and allowable mods), as we pay through the nose down here and also as to what can and can't be done to a car, and keep the car street legal, but then again, many of us down here take for granted a lifestyle that just isn't available in many places in the world today

Anyway Patricks car rocks and if some ppl don't get it, then they never will, but for those of us who do, it just great knowing he is out there doing it
peace

I'd invested what seemed like a fair bit of money back in 2007/08 and had a series of engine failures. As I had a lot of the hardware for a 3L motor I just kept going with trying to just get it done. As time progressed my d.d. became more and more stripped out and the track was where it was best suited. Like many things we become addicted to, going faster at the track was my drug. It's always a matter of one thing leading to another. There was also a part of me that didn't want just another Cup Car (as good as they are) and somehow prove that we could make something worthy of respect with this 944 platform. I never dreamed that it would get to this level and I am still contemplating many more upgrades. If someone calls me a fool, I can't argue. If someone says I followed a bit of a dream, I also can't argue. :-)
Thanks for your response. I was afraid you were going to say that since I feel I am going down the same route as yourself. Keep up the great work and advancement on the 951.

We get the odd Whitey in most of southern Australia OD, I got chased out by a 6 metre near Philip Island when I was a little younger. His fin was same height as me sitting on my board I was told, but I never saw him, only ppl waving like crazy on the beach, at which point I tried running on water lol

I'll throw in... Kirra and Snappers. One of these days I'll get back down that way.
