electrical issue: horn honk upon opening door and engine start
I recently pulled the doors to paint the car and the passenger door handle switch seemed to have a broken switch and wouldn't activate. Would that cause my car to beep once very shortly when I open the door and move the key to the start position?

I think you have a demon and need an exorcist.
Or you might have a bad ground.
Actually, does your car have a factory alarm? And, if so, is it the alarm horn honking (by the battery) or the main horns hoking (in front of the left front wheel)?

Think it's the one by the battery because I set that thing off many times trying to start my car with the handles off the car. I even pulled the two tone fuse and relay and it still went off. Going to say it's my car alarm horn doing it. Probably factory but not sure. How do I tell?

If you have the factory alarm, it's an extra key that's in the rear quarter panel behind the driver's door.
So, it does sound like it's the alarm horn going off. I'd guess that somehow it's confused and/or broken and it is being triggered by the faulty door latch switch and/or the ignition circuit.

i was thinking maybe the door latch switch. That one behind the quarter panel doesn't work, I can't even turn the key in there. If I wired the two wires together, would that act to arm or dearm the alarm system? It sounds like the alarm horn, which I have never heard till it went off when I opened the doors without the handle in. Loud as crap.

Since you can't use it, bypass the alarm before it causes a no-start.

Did the jumper thing. Works. It actually went off in the parking lot today during retreat. ****ing embarrassing trying to shut the horn off while the national anthem is playing. Then car wouldn't start. Did the jumper thing with paper clips and scotch tape and started up. Have a real jumper on now for good.
