Point of view video from last test session at the track (3.1l 16v turbo widebody etc)
Issues with clutch slipping, gear linkage damaged and brakes that required pumping but it was all in alla a good test session
EDIT: I cannot see the embedded Youtube clip so here's the direct link:

It's very promising Duke. What with the overheating brakes, slipping clutch and low oil pressure in addition to the very tight track...you've done well to get that quick. Sooooo much room for improved times which is exiting. ;-)
Be interesting to get Dave's take on the oil pressure??

Thanks Pat! The lap times are roughly around 5 sec slower than a 996 Cup on slicks with a good driver. I reckon that with the issues solved 3 seconds should not be too hard to shave off. With more fine tuning and higher boost a pro driver should come close to a Cup car on slicks which is pretty cool.

1. The car's never going to be on pace with a clutch slipping like that.
2. Looks like the car is pushing quite a bit.
3. And yeah... the shift linkage issue.
How do you like the 996 rear suspension?

2. Indeed. First time I drove the car fast with my latest aero and ride height setup. Will try to fine tune it on the 3-way öhlins and blade sway bars but most likely I need to increase rear spring rate.
3. So annoying!
Hard to know how much of the rear grip that comes from the 996 suspension by itself but in total it offers great grip and not as nearly as "bumpy" as the stock rear suspension usually feels with stiff shocks/springs. But I assume the Öhlins dampers to play a big role in that feeling.

Yes, the understeer is another killer for time. Not that you want a flicky oversteer setup but when you can sort the plowing on slow corners you'll also make up a lot of time. Not only on those corners themselves but exit speeds will increase nicely. I think you're driving well under all those circumstances, especially as you've hardly had any seat time over the last year or so.
Love the new wheels too. Car looks as mean as those angry cams!!!
