Default 944 Turbo 17x10 tire fitment

Hi everyone, I hope I'm posting in the right place.
I came over from bimmerforums after acquiring my 86.5 944 turbo, and we had a specific sub-forum for tire/rim fitment.

I'd like to know if a square 17x10 et15 setup will fit my early offset (23.3mm) car. Any input wold be greatly appreciated.

I'll upload an into thread with my car as soon as she gets a good detailing!

Forgot to mention, stock springs and Koni Yellows.

This thread mentions that even 17x9 et15 up front won't fit...
If that's the case, what about 17x8.5 et 20 for the front?

Welcome to the forum! You're in the right place. These types of posts come up regularly, but there's never a perfect answer, especially for the rears where actual clearance varies from left to right (because the reference line for all left-to-right measurements during manufacturing were from one side, not from the center), and clearances will differ slightly from one car to another within the same MY.

It's close, but I don't think 17x8.5 et20 will fit up front, at least not without a lot of camber or rolling the fenders. I have an early offset 86. I have 17x8.5 et50 turbo twists on all four corners for daily driving, and have very little camber for DD. I'm running spacers front & rear - don't recall the exact widths, but I know they're not even close to 30mm spacers (30mm would be the equivalent of an et20 wheel - I have a set of 30mm spacers that I previously used on the rear for track wheels and they're huge compared to the ones I have on the car now). The tires are already at the edge of the wheelwell. I'm pretty sure the spacers less than 20mm, which means you would be trying to push my setup more than 10mm/1cm out with an et20 wheel. If the wheels are accessible, it would be worth trying, but less than a 50/50 chance.

Thanks for the welcome!
You're also a lot lower, am I right? a practically stock height, I might not face the same limitations?

17x8.5 et20 front and 17x10 et15 rear should be a walk in the park, depending on what tire size you run.

I have been using 17x8.5 et50 wheel up front with a 1.5" spacer (38mm) making it an et12 wheel (with spacer included) and using 225/40/17 tires, and no issues.

I have also been using a 17x11 et(not sure but super low, close to 0) without spacer, 245/45/17 tire, and super low fitment, rolled fenders, no issues. (besides the rim edge touching the fender sometimes on a hard bump while cornering) Soft suspension needs to be upgraded!!!

Okay, awesome. I was thinking a slight stretch might do. Thanks for the advice!
