2.7 build
I am starting a 2.7 build based on an S2 block.
A couple of questions:
The 3.0 blocks have a centrifugal oil compartment. When tanking the block (hot soapy water) do the covers have to be removed to make sure that nothing is left behind?
For the turbo oil supply is it just a matter of drilling and tapping the balance shaft cover? Are there any "tricks" for accomplishing the oil supply?
Thanks in advance!

I am curious if you happen to know the differences between the S2 crank and block versus the 968 crank and block if any? Does the S2 have the piston squirters as well?

S2 block does not have squirters, can be added. Don't know about the differences, if any, in the cranks.
I will be using a 2.5 crank, selling the 3.0 crank after getting it check out.
No info on the centrifugal oil compartment? With block upside down, you can see, there are covers bolted on at the top of crank case. These are not part of the 2.5 block.
In the Porsche factory manual it states that they do not need to be removed for an overhaul.
What the heck is a centrifugal oil compartment.

I thought the balance shaft on the S2 had a plug that you can unscrew for the turbo oil line, or amI getting old?

I heard there might be a difference in the two cranks, but can't shed any more light on than that. Might be internet rumor.
