Just bought 1 and will be installing it this week.

I read that e85 will make them white like plugs 1 and 4.

Do you agree?

Mike, I am consuming oil at about 1 qt/750 miles. Mechanic said none of the plugs looked oily. Compression was high 130's across all cylinders at sea level.

I purchased an Innovate LC-1 wide band.

Thank you for your input.

Seeing that I installed the 80lb injectors about 2000 miles ago when I switched to e85, do you think maybe the injectors need to be cleaned from all the crap that alcohol releases?

From what I've seen, the notorious E85 injector gunk is more likely to build up if you installed new fuel lines since using E85. It's not hard to pull the injectors and check them directly.

alcohol is a cleaning agent too. the gunk is from the fuel tank from what ever you where running previously. That is usually at the bottom of the fuel tank. The fuel filter is there to catch the gunk and other particles that aren't fuel. When first running e85, it's recommended you replace he fuel filter after so many fill ups.

E85 will, a lot of times, leave a little bit of whitish residue.
The car might be a little lean - adjust the FQS to add some fuel.
It looks like your cylinder #2, and a little on #3, probably has a worn intake valve guide/seal. Which is pulling in, and burning a bit of oil.

That is what I suggest for a track car.
A street car, the stock heat range will probably have a little nicer idle and low-load.

Joshua, So you are saying the 7's are correct for a street car running e85, correct?

7's are fine for a street car, and are a factory-fill heat-range for a lot of cars.
