Default Oil restrictor for hybrid turbo?

After some troubles with my hybrid turbo i learned here that i need an oil restrictor.

Turbo is a t04e with t3 chra and kkk26/6 out. Build by broadfootracing and bought on eBay as new rebuild.

I now bought a 3mm restrictor for the oilinlet

Is this enough to stop the blue smoke or do i also need some sort of restrictor on the outlet oil?

These are the specs;

Rebuilt Garrett T3/T04E/K26 Hybrid Turbocharger.

Specifications:
T04E compressor housing
Compressor inlet is 3.0"
Compressor outlet is 2"
Compressor A/R is .50
Compressor wheel is a .57 trim
CHRA is a T3 water cooled
Exhaust turbine housing is a custom modified K26 #6
Exhaust turbine wheel is a stage III
All rebuild parts are new Garrett including new turbine wheel.

Only install the restrictor in the oil inlet. You want the oil drain as unrestricted as possible in your case.

Unfortunately it's going to be trial and error to figure out how much of a restrictor is going to work for your particular turbo.

Ok, i will start with a 3mm restrictor. That is what you are using isn't it?

Don't want to kill the turbo due to no oil..

Yes, but I have not run my car yet. I was pushing oil thru the seals (I believe it was my -6 oil feed line being way too damn big). Going off of the Garrett recomendation of .094 being the smallest, 3mm shouldn't damage your turbo.

Going off of memory, a friend used a 0.125" one on a different application, but I think his source was from the head (i.e. after the restrictor). I'd expect you are probably okay given the higher pressure source you have. But, I'd see if you can get in touch with Garrett and see what they say.

Ballbearing so not the same. 1mm is to small for a journal bearing. But my 3mm does not fix it, wil try 2.5 next. Maybe even 2mm found oz951 who used or uses a 2mm with a similar hybrid turbo.
