Default Finally getting the car painted!!!!! Phase 2 with pics

So this is where the car sits as of yesterday. That exact moment they were applying the 1st base. The end the car will have 2 base and 2 clear. Its going to be painted Indian Red as per paint code.

Thanks for the comments. I didn't know it was Indian Red till he told me, because i always thought it was Guards red. Guards red and India red are 2 different colors he should me.

The car is going to look great, is the hood vent getting painted or is it masket off? I cannot tell in the picture.

As for the Guards Red vs India Red, they are the same color and use the same paint code (027) until 1988 on the 944. And then in 1988 the paint code changes and the name stays with Guards Red from that point forward.

for -1985 : 027 Guards Red

for 1986-88 : 027 India Red

for 1989- : 80 K Guards Red

He masked the vent as i wanted to leave it the carbon fiber material.

Here is some good info from Harry.
The real German name of my color is Indischrot and color formula LM3A.

Guards red from 1988 and later is different formulation.

Sweet! I think I am going to paint my car as well. Nothing exciting since it is black. I always said I would never paint it since it went to the track too much but I haven't been in a couple of years and am considering another purchase for a track car so this one might finally look decent.

the car is not 100% done, just dropped off an Air splitter and 968 door handles. Here is a shot in the dark with my camera phone. it still needs to polished and final touch up.
