Holy **** have you read the waiver you have to sign to buy anything from them?
People have different definitions of adequate...
Pre and post IAT and MAP readings would be nice, but most people don't have that kind of setup.

That said, if I had kept my 951, I would've done the FMIC a bit differently in hindsight. I'll be doing something different on my 968, but I have to anyways since it's so different.

Eliminate the sheetmetal between the frame rails and do at least a 4" thick IC with ducting to the radiator. You could eliminate the need of cutting your bumper with this.
Fabricate some kind of brace for the rails either in front or behind everything. I think xschop makes a simple one, and one of the guys across the pond made a nice waterjet cut one.

Examples:

This has come up before, and I had posted my data logging results.

Judging by IAT, the stock intercooler is adequate for my set-up (as I stated before). That's not to say a FMIC isn't worth it, but most people tend to just slap stuff on their car for the hell of it. The OP already stated as much:

I've always loved upgrading my vehicles, but this mentality has puzzled me when we start talking about performance modifications.

Unfortunate about the waiver, I was considering some of their stuff.

Believe me I realize its wacky and I'm the first to laugh at the 1.6 honda civic with what looks to be an office desk bolted to the trunk, (not that most of us haven't been there ourselves. come on admit it!!) but this modification does have both aesthetic and performance benefits once the HP is up there and its somewhat cheap so why not.

As for the waiver, I actually have a couple of Dave's things and haven't signed that, also his stuff is top notch and if you talk to the guy on the phone you will want to buy from him, he's extremely knowledgeable, helpful
and the prices are insane! he also has a ton of stuff that he can do from you that is not on the website, from the few conversations I've had with him the way things are going will will soon see massive HP from our cars for less than the price of tuning a mazda!!

As I see it, if you didn't like to buy anything with a waiver like that you wouldn't even own a toaster, the only issue is that FRF is a small business and so is not as good at hiding stuff like that from you, almost everything in you home has a waiver like that somewhere and i'm sure Dave is just trying to protect himself as most of us would

A lot of the stuff you buy from people online has a similar waiver to the FRF one. Its just they put it all in nice small text with a scrollbar and put a box at the bottom for you to check off before you can proceed with the purchase. Why he did it the hard way is anyone's guess.

Didn't want to make a new thread. I remember seeing a car with the license support cut out, just cannot locate it anymore. Been thinking of doing the same, except, I'd also cut the horizontal fins going across the bumper as well, to have the full fmic show. Also wanted to bump this thread to see if they can re-upload pics.

Found some images of Instagram. I'm sure they're recognized users here on the list. Posting here for future reference and I'll be doing the same, just don't know if I'll be cutting the bumper support though. It's the core support for my fmic. My vehicle is the last pic. Hope the owners of these pics don't mind me posting.

It's not that much about getting air onto the intercooler but rather how to create low pressure area behind the intercooler.
Air always finds way to reach intercooler but most often there is nowhere to escape.
