I have Toyo rA1s in 17 255-40-17 and 235-45-17
and want to try the Nittos NT01 in 17"
but they don't have the same size I ran with Toyo
the closest is 255-40-17 and 135-40-17
will these work for track DE's?
I run in the red group.
I have read positive things about the NT01s but open to any opinions and willing to consider other options but leaning to NT01s.
price is a factor and I drive to the track so slicks out of question and I won't use Michelin.

I run 275-40-17's front and rear. No problems. Get rid of the staggered wheels/tires. The car will handle better with the same size wheels/tires and you can rotate them around to get longer life.

I'm a fan of the NT01s. They're consistent up to the very end. I run a square set up on cup II wheels, 17x9 all around with 255s. Our cars are well balanced and in my opinion don't require a staggered setup...unless you have gobs of power to deal with. The square setup allows me to swap wheels from corner to corner which extends the tire life

Another fan of 255/40 NT01s all around on 9" Boxster rims. Handling and braking is much improved as is tire life due the ability to rotate them around. When the tread wears off I will sometimes flip them on the rims and get even more time out of them.

Another to chime in on 275/40/17's on 9" rims all around.
However, I prefer RA1's to NT-01's. In my experience the NT-01's heat cycle out earlier.

I like the Toyo 888, can be swapped L&R for longer life, good grip. I run 255 frnt and 275 rear. I also just picked up a set of 18's, 245 and 295s to fit on a set of Kinesis K28's
