Default Oil volume VS dipstick notches

I've searched for this and can't seem to find what I'm looking for. What is the difference in oil volume between the min and max notches on the dipstick? I notice that when my oil level gets down to about halfway or a little below halfway between the notches, I can start to hear a little valvetrain noise. Is that a half quart low, a full quart? When topped up my engine is quiet and smooth.

So a little under halfway would be about a quart low then. Can anybody confirm from their owners manuals that this is the same for the turbo cars? Don't 951s have a slightly higher oil capacity than the S2 cars?
