Default #8 hotside inplace of #6

Hey guys I was wondering what would happen if you put a #8 hotside housing in place of a #6 hotside but keep the turbine shaft the same (#6)? I know the #8 turbos have a larger exducer on the turbine shaft so I am curious what the out come would be. Thanks for your assistance.

Nothing good?

There would be way too much clearance between the turbine and the housing, and you'd lose a LOT of spool. Not worth it in my opinion.

A lot of the DSM/4g63 guys usually send their smaller turbos to have the hot sides ported and the turbine clipped a bit, but I dont think it would reduce your back pressure too much...but it would definitely be a better idea than installing a #8 hotside on your #6 turbine.

Dunno if that would be true the inducer on a 26/8 and 26/6 are the same so the air coming in should rotate the wheel fine its just the exducer is different
