When we go out with the aussy porsche forum (look at my signature pic) I usually need to drive an hour to get to the meeting point then another hour to get to the hills. All in good fun though!!

Speed is worse though. the law is enforced so hard that the way i see it, they want you to be under the limit. but as soon as your over, they'll bend you over. If you're under the limit by so much (i think it's 20 km/h) you'll get in trouble too.
I feel as i need to keep my eye on the speedo 90% of the time, in fear if getting a fine. But really i go at my own pace.. with traffic flow. if im 10k's over.. bad luck. i'll slow down for cameras and stuff though.
That's what I loved about my old '89. It had cruise control and was great on the Hwy down to the Racetrack. Otherwise it's just too easy to be doing 50kmh + over the speed limit in a matter of seconds. Unfortunately no Govt (let alone our pissweak ones) will take responsibility and ensure good standards of driver training plus good roads. Why do that when you will lose soooooooo much revenue. They don't care about the deathtoll, they just want the $$$.

Hey Pauly,
You finally convinced me to get out my GPS (racechrono pro) and check out a few of my 100kph-160 times. I just picked off 2 laps. in the first lap just coming onto the straight (so i am still turning a little) we did a 2.73 seconds. the 2nd lap was my optimal and it was 2.55 seconds 100kph - 160kph. This is with the 3.0ltr 16v turbo engine running a vitesse stage 5 turbo. Stock weight at 1375kgs (full tank fuel, minus driver). Our 100kph - 200kph is 5.51 seconds
Regards
Sean

Edit that, Just found another lap at wakefield, 100kph - 160kph 2.4 seconds

nice videos.... I wanted to see drifting before i died, but no serious drifting videos [ok],
but, who's gonna raise the roof with a solid 0~150~0 [mph] romp?
dammit I wanna be able to shotgun a beer before the video ends...

and, who's gonna be the first to 200 [mph]
