Update: 4/18/13

Took the intake manifold off yesterday to investigate again. After some due dilligence, could find nothing wrong but did notice that the intake manifold gaskets were only compressed on the exhaust end and not the intake end! Hmmmmm....

The intake was not sitting flat and was rubbing on the back mounting plate as well as on the throttle body return spring arm. Removed the rear mounting plate and elongated the mounting hole further. Took a dremel to the turbo top and swapped triple square throttle plate bolts with flat head ones and countersinked the holes. Checked for clearance and it was much better.

Put the manifold back on and started the car. Purrs like a kitten at idle. In the end, it was nothing but just the manifold sucking unmetered air.

Thank you all and a special thanks to Tom McGenius who spent countless texts guiding me through the ordeal. We are blessed to have people like him in our community.

Keeping my finger's crossed as I take her out for a spin today. Wish me luck.

That was the goal all along, which is why I took it all apart as a last ditch effort to see if I can find the cause. Now I just need some miles to make sure all is well..

I thought you ruled this out on post number 8.
Glad to hear you got it fixed.

Well congrats. I'll check out the black car next time home, have too much going on with the race car right now. I do have a new manifold to put on so I'll pull it on too, venturi delete, and have DME/KLR to swap just in case. Just by chance did you install the new DME/KLR that you sent off?

Took the car to Hershey today. Even though I didn't have much seat time in her running without idling issues, I felt very comfortable taking her for a 260 mile round trip. Car ran flawlessly. Had a couple of quick bursts.
Liking the smaller hotside already. Next, go to dyno and see how my afr is from the hotside change.

Regards,
Raj
