Default BMW Sensor

Did a search and found the BMW part # for a reference sensor that will work on our cars: #12141710668.

It is certainly is cheaper than the Porsche one, but it looks like the bottom half of the sensor on the BMW one is black plastic. The Porsche one is exposed aluminum on the lower half.

Will this make any difference and is the above quoted BMW # the correct # that is being used for our cars?

So 107 people have no comment?

Come on guys, I used the search function, just trying to verify if this is the correct sensor to use.

Not sure which is right but i have written down and cross referenced from paragons site: bmw part#0261210002; Bosch part number is 12 14 1 708 618

(I have these on my 951 and 944n/a) - the difference is the wiring is a bit longer on the bmw sensors.

I replaced both cam sensors on my 2000 328ci and they appeared to be the same as the speed/reference sensors on my 951. Never compared part numbers though.

As Sam said, the BMW sensors paragon sells is the same except wire length. I also have them on my 951 in they are just fine.

I replaced mine with the BMW parts. The part number agrees with SamGrant951. But I think that is the Bosch number, not BMW. It is 0261210002001. I do not know what the 001 at the end means. Wires are about 5 inches longer, but a tie wrap keeps the extra out of the way.

Is there a difference in quality between the FAE and the Bosch? The Bosch cost 2x as much on LR.

I bought a pair of BMW Bosch sensors from LR two years ago for 1/2 price of the Porsche sensors. The only difference was the wire was like 6" longer.

Sure... but this is Rennlist, so it's expected. What's the cycle on here now, maybe 3-4 years before everything gets rehashed again?
