Cheated on my 951......
My 951 lost oil pressure due to a faulty oil pump and
spun a bearing. It's in the process of being rebuilt.
That gave me the final impetus to tidy up my RSR and finally
get it out to my track, Harris Hill Road.
What a beautiful day and the car ran just as nice.
The 951 will once again be my track queen, but until
then I'll have fun with my mistress.

PO spun a rod bearing with a good bit of debris.
either the debris wasn't completely cleaned out of the engine at the time of that rebuild
or the damage was done during the initial engine loss.
I found debris grooves on #4 rod bearing last summer when had those redone.
I had the Turbo rebuilt in the fall and there was evidence of damage there.
I was tracking down oil pressure and oil leak/blow by issues all fall.
I lost OP on the track, but it returned, tried to limp home, but only made it 1/2 way
before OP dropped again. The #2 had spun.
Subsequently we pulled the oil pump, and there are numerous grooves from debris cut into the
internal surfaces.
Having the block inspected now and have sourced all replacement parts. Will begin putting
it back together based upon block inspection results.

between 5500-6000.
Car since I had I acquired it last spring always seemed a little low on OP.
Typically 4-4.5bar at startup and 2-2.5 bar when warmed up. Running Castrol 15W/50.
I was running the Castrol while I sorted out the leaks, etc.
I was chasing down a few oiling issues, so I could never quite pinpoint the root cause.
Now I think I know.
Was also surprised it did not have baffle and pickup skirt. It will now.
Cross drilled crank, crank scraper, AOS upgrade, kitchen sink :-)

So is the RSR the backup track car or the 951
My 951 has been off the road for about a year now, with that said i havent driven it more than 3k miles or a made a track day in the last 3 almost. Hope to have it back by spring, but its been hard looking at 996 GT3's and resisting the urge to put the 951 on hold!
