Anyone here like to keep secrets about their car to others about their mods?

For some reason i don't like telling many people what i've done to my car (as it looks stock)

It depends on the audience.. Here, and with other 951 guys, I'm pretty much an open book... Out in the real world, I'm a bit more tight-lipped. I get asked pretty regularly in parking lots if it's fast, and I just shrug and say "It's not what I would call slow..."

Since most of my crowd is mechanically inclined I am pretty much am open book. I dont race so there really isnt any reason to keep things a secret.

After 16 years I can't even remember what all I have done. I crawl under the car and go: "Ohh, that's a nice piece". :-)

I guess I'm similar to Crackership... I tend to downplay things quite a bit to the general public. The few guys that walk up to me out of nowhere and say, "Wow a turbo Porsche! Is it fast???" I generally tell them "not really... it's an 80s turbo car, it's only ~227hp." Because frankly, I wouldn't get into a stoplight race with a Toyota Camry these days, without fear of getting my butt handed to me below 60mph. Cars have come a long way in terms of performance in 25 years.

Among other car or Porsche people, I'm an open book... though I've been accused more than once of being "tight lipped", secretive, and cheaty because they generally don't believe my car is as stock as it is. "Here's the keys - knock yourself out!" is usually enough to shut them up though. Next year those accusers are in for a surprise when they see what happens when I actually DO have a bigger turbo in the car

They get kind of giddy when they see the width of the rear wheels, so I just let them think whatever they want.

Out there, I keep most everything to myself. Most just don't believe me because it goes against everything they've read on the internet, they couldn't do it, or just because they don't have a clue what I'm explaining. But, on here, I still show about 90% of what I do, and Still explain 80% of why. The missing percentages are due to lack of energy to explain or show everything. Much like Crackership. Same goes for West too. I still look around and have to think back to when I made that crazy part.

I will usually glad to share my experience or built but it depends on the audience as well as under the hood looks stock. If I detect folks being smart about stuff then I am not as open and just point to the phat 305s in the back.

11.5" wheels that fit 315/35-17

Not typical 951 fitment.

Yea, that's pretty phat- me likey. I planned to go 315 with my next set...but keeping the 11" wide technology II wheels for the factory look though. What's your ET if you don't mind sharing and what brand tires as I looking to go this route next. Thnx.
