Default Common fuel/oil/exhaust smell problem areas

Everytime I drive my car it has some sort of smell. If the windows are up it really isn't there, but my Wife swears that all my clothes smell of gas/exhaust. She isn't sure which. In the mornings I have noticed there is a faint smell, but I'm not sure if it is a gas smell or not. With my windows down I can smell either oil/exhaust. Even while driving down the highway I can smell it. So even at 60 MPH I can still smell something. What are some common areas for smells to be created? I have one exhaust leak at the wastegate tie in for the main exhaust. Other than that what should I be looking for inside the cab?

My smell went away when I reinstalled the taillights.

Old thread, but did you replace gaskets or something? I could see how the drivers taillight could suck in fumes.

I replaced my rear hatch seal, along with having the glass resealed to the frame.

Tail lights and hatch glass area are the common areas. Air flowing over the rear of the car gets sucked in through bad seals.

Sit in the hatch with it closed and have someone on the outside with a leaf blower and the listen and feel for leaks.

I used the 3M ribbon stuff, but others have had success using all kinds of stuff. I liked the way it squished when tightening the bolts, and the stuff never gets hard.
