Did you ever consider making an instruction manual so that guys can follow in your footsteps?

its not that I don't want to pay to have the work done its just that I like to tell my friends what I have done

I for one would be happy to pay say $200 for a manual and you could write one with photos and stuff during your next build, you could supply it in Disk form so that the actual cost is very little and hopefully you'd make some good money along the way.

Thanks

Kim

I think I spelled it out pretty clearly in my thread.

However, there are some things that are just imbedded in my brain that probably didn't get written. With this being such a small community, I doubt I'd sell many manuals. Plus I'd really prefer to be hands on as there are done things that a builder just needs to know from experience.

I could see some problems telling everyone... Sure go for it...

It's not rocket science but not as simple as just doing a straight rebuild either.

The CR would drop from 8.0 to 7.9. If interested see more details here:

Not exactly. These builds are a bit different than a std 944 engine build. They are larger bores and the valve pockets are already pretty deep. Plus the added stroke changes the overall ratio.

I doubt Shawn's would change from where he is now ( I don't know the precise CR) to probably a .25 point lower.

I do love what you did though. Very innovative.

Yeah you did, I read it a few times, I will assemble the parts then find the bits that I don't understand ha ha.

This brings to mind an experiment...Sid, you could be the guy to test out just how long a timing belt lasts just by checking tension once in a while...have a spare with you for if/when it fails but would be a good data point to know, especially knowing how hard you drive
