Default Snapped an RE trailing arm bolt

It happened.. The ever so unlikely happened again.

My car ate an RE trailing arm bolt this time...

Thanks for the lift Derek!

Had a chance to take off the wheel and get some better shots today.

Did the shock ever touch the arm when installed? Like the base of the shock where the rings lock the height adjustment scrub against the arm?

Nope not when installed and no marks on the shock either tonight

Yeah and the tire didn't rub, doesn't seem to be any damage. I'm glad it didn't break on the track because then it would be a very different story

Interesting, I would have expected the 1/2" bolt thru the shock eye to break, not the 14mm adapter into the arm.

When you say "again", what happened previously?

Assuming its T-bar delete (?).

How much treet/track mileage on it?

Was that possibly over torqued when installed?

My car has a habit of eating parts most unlikely to break.
No T-bars and not nearly enough track days as I would have liked since they were installed in June, just 4 track days

No It was double checked with standard torque wrench and digital to RE torque spec

It's so rare it's not worth thinking about. This is the first picture of a broken trailing arm bolt on rennlist that I have seen. RE or not I have only ever herd stories and never seen a picture.

Extremely rare. I've seen it, but not with those adapters.

What rear shocks are those and is the lower shock eye in the center of the shock or offset?

That looks like a Bilstein shock body.
Yikes! Here's hoping the BMW Grade 10 bolts I'm running don't do this.
