Default Need Input on this Power Package for 1988 951 S

Just acquired a beautiful 40K mile 1988 Silver Rose that is bone stock and was wondering if you guys think this would be a good combo of parts/tune?

Kerry Singly (sp?) just went through the car and did the belts, fluids, and any other little items it needed to be in perfect shape.

I plan on leaving the engine untouched (may need to upgrade head gasket and clutch).

What RWHP should this combo be able to produce...reliably?

Do I need to upgrade the intercooler?

1. Rogue M-Tune package with 93 and E85 maps
http://roguetuning.com/951_maf_kit_m-tune%C2%A9

2. SFR Precision Billet 55mm DBB turbo http://www.speedforceracing.com/index.php?productID=755

3. Broadfoot Racing Turbo back exhaust (dp, cat bypass, muffler)
http://broadfootracing.com/944___968_exhaust.htm

Thanks for any and all advice,

Cleve

Broadfoot Racing takes a very long time to get anything done. Go with either Fabspeed or Lindsey Racing for your exhaust. Pretty much anything but Broadfoot. They have some serious part delivery issues. You can find many posts about it. Nice enough people but next month service or later.

M-tune is great.

Dnovak is also making exhaust parts. He and Josh are doing some work you might want to look at which includes a turbo. Check out their post.

LR has fast service. Not sure how things are with Speedforce these days.

Thanks, any thoughts on the power this kind of package should make?

It's going to depend on boost. Up to 350ish maybe a little more using reasonable boost. I'd also recommend the frf headers and crossover. I would also recommend ARP head studs and a cometic HG.

Frf also sells a great clutch. The only one that has EVER held up for me.

Thanks for the comments, shooting for 350-375RWHP and I thought this combo would get me there without going crazy on the boost (16-18PSI), do you think that is possible with this sized turbo? I like the fact that it uses the KKK #8 turbine housing...keep things a lot simpler.

You may consider a large waste gate to keep crossover pressure down. Yes I think it can. But I'd carefully monitor back pressure. The compressor should be up to it.

Which wastegate do you recommend? I was thinking about using a Greddy Profec B-Spec 2 EBC.

Thanks,

I have a great setup for sale used that will make 360RWHP.

Vitesse Racing stage 2.5 turbo, insulated V banded cross over pipe (setup for Tial 46mm wastegate), Vitesse Racing MAF kit, larger injectors, DME with Vitesse Racing custom board installed, hard pipes (both), and the Vitesse Racing wasted spark system, and custom 3" V banded down pipe.

It all just came off a 2.5L engine and it made 363RWHP at 1 bar and it's already setup and tuned ready to go.

$3500

Is this set up tuneable/programmable if I make changes?

Thanks,

I've followed your builds on Pelican....moderate doesn't seem to be in your vocabulary......

I went with Lindsey for the majority of my build. I went with the 60-1, #8 hotside, 3" compressor as my car is mostly track and rarely sees less than 3kRPM...

I think their 53 would be an excellent street charger coupled with their 3" exhaust....then add the M-Tune and enjoy the car....

When you say moderate, you mean like this:
