Default Need Bushing Recommendations

Hello Rennlisters,

Now that my 951 is up and running after 3yrs, I am in need of front control arm rear bushings...(eccentric bolt bushings). The passenger side is completely torn, and allowed my control arm to slam against the frame under braking, pulling me to the right. Since the bushing has sheared off, would I still be able to use the weltmeisters? Any other recommendations? If anyone has bushings for sale, please let me know as well.

Cheers!

The weltmeisters require the sleeves to be cut and removed. I actually just bought as set and decided to go a different route so I have a new set if interested just for the front of the control arm. They are polyurethane with steel sleeves, easy install, just remove old bushings and metal outer sleeve then install new bushings with the new steel round sleeves.

Unless you are going to be dedicating the vehicle to track use. I would recommend you go with the updated 968 bushings. They are a bit stiffer than stock. I have used the Polly and found that they become annoyingly squeal after the grease drys up.

For a non track car the 968 mounts are the ones to go with. Much better than the huge rubber ones originally installed.

For your front control arm bushing check these out. Would be a good match for the 968 mo30 caster blocks.http://www.elephantracing.com/suspen...ngs.htm.scroll down to the sport hardness rubber ........

I wanted the powerflex bushings, but the 968 castor blocks from pelican will ship quicker, free, and should bolt in quickly. Can't wait to get em in, and see how she feels!

Yes, use the 968 castor blocks, but I have had good luck, no squeaking with the Welt poly bushings on the front of control arms. I would also suggest that you replace control arm ball joints with one of the Rennbay kits. I plan to do the elephant racing spring plate bushings in the rear and change the rest to poly from powerflex. Also, 20+ track days this year and counting! Mike
