Default Brake Booster Options

After upgrading the turbo and adding a 3" downpipe there's not much clearance to the booster. The diaphragm in mine just went out, and I wonder if it's at least partially due to the extra heat (or maybe because it was nearly 30 years old..)

I've heard of people running BMW boosters that match the ATE MC. I guess there's a BMW unit with a smaller booster shell. Does anyone know which ones will work? I searched but couldn't find any info. Or would you recommend replacing it with the 944 unit? I'm not sure if the heat of the downpipe is known to break the diaphragm.

Thanks guys!

Look into the 924 booster, it is pretty small. I believe it might even bolt on.

Thanks Rocket.

Does anyone have a 924 & 944 booster to compare? I'd be surprised if someone hasn't tired this already.

How would the 924 booster go in an LS1 conversion?

Messing around with the brakes is the only thing holding me back ......

Still won't fit. Don't let brakes hold you back, hydroboost works well and fits.

Can anyone confirm if the 924 booster is a direct bolt on and slightly smaller? I'd like to order something soon to get my car back on the road. Thanks!
