Keep a close eye on your pressures especially when the temp changes.
Now that's what I'm talking about! Yeah, I'm pretty aware of my tires. Ofcourse that's because I'm constantly putting the car in the air for this or that. but oh well. It's part of the fun.

that seems a bit extreme on the inside just because the pressures were a little low

How low were your tire pressures? I have run tires with low pressure on other vehicles before and they never ended up looking like that !!!!! Wow.

what size wheels are you using for these?

I have two sets of 18's

but I think they are 8" and 10"
which I think might be too small for this setup.

Justin, How much negative rear camber are you running. I have rolled rear fenders and I still can't fit 285's back there. The rear edge of the tire rubs on the fender. Not good! Can't run them like that. obviously!

Justin may not know exact figures as he aligns by heat across the tire, he gets out quick at events, HANS and all, to check temps with his pyrometer.

Sorry if I missed it above Ehall, what offset do you have on the rear? I've never rubbed the fender, and mine aren't rolled, with a 10 inch rim with 65 offset and 285 tire on the rear.

52 offset. My car is an 87. A 255 fits without issue. I'm wondering if I can add enough negative camber to make the 285's work. Funny enough, I can run a 285 upfront, IF I want to kave the front end look like an old Cobra, or a hotrod. HAHA!!

That does sound odd that you're getting rubbing with a 10" wheel et 52 and 285s?

It's a full inch wider than the 255. It's 285/30/18 and the fronts are 255/35/18. I had originally worried about cramming the 10 inch et52 wheels on the front, but they fit though they push to the very max of the outside of the fender...maybe even a hair past...lol, but not much. I'm really trying to figure out if they will fit with enough neg camber in the rear.
There is only about 1/4 inch of clearance between the tire and the fender lips, in a few places. That isn't going to work an ANY bump.

Sounds right to me. 255 ET 55 on 9s with 15mm spacer (about the same as 285 ET52) rubs on lip (fender not rolled) with -2 camber. Interestingly it is only the left that rubs. You need at least ET60 IMO with 285 tyres. All tyres aren't equal, so what works for some won't for others.

I have a Turbo S, so the fenders are rolled. I'm running about -2° camber in the rear IIRC. I still have quite a bit of space, so I'm also surprised that you are having clearance issues.
