Default A/C acting very strange

Hey guys,

My A/C has been acting strange lately. It seems to not be draining water (I live in humid MD) that is compressed, and while some is staying outside the car, most of it ends up in either the driver or passenger footwells inside the car, or even inside my glove box. And whats worse, is that when I make sudden maneuvers (lane change, turns, accelerations) it drains from areas where there are wires, which means it has started pooling there. And last but not least, if I turn the fan all the way to 4, water starts shooting out of the front defroster, and the 2 central vents.

FWIW, my car was converted by a Porsche specialist to R-134A.

Thanks for all your help in advance

There could be several reasons why its leaking water, but but most likely it is a clogged condenser drain. If this gets plugged up, water will pool down one of the HVAC hoses and end up in the footwells. It could also be leaking out of the side of the compressor past one of the O rings, where it will make its way down a hose and end up puddling where you are seeing it. It isnt too hard to fix, just a pain in the *** and will require jacking a 951 up.

Its a royal PITA It took me hrs to find the F#$^ hose
It drips out right over or to the side of the torque tube
The issue with the top part of the drain hose is the radio, cubby, etc has to be access ( removed ) to make sure the line is clear ... It you need a picture of the hose at the torque tube exit I think I can dig one up .. just let me know
I blew compressed air though it ....
Good luck

I wasn't fast enough Crazy Eddie beat me to it.

This happened to me last year - in yes humid MD.

I just squeezed my drain tube and the clog broke free. Here is my post about it with pictures of what it looks like and where to find it.

Thank you everyone for the help, and IGROWL for the link to your problem as well. All the help here is always appreciated.

And just one more thing, my 951 seems to be running rich at times to the point that at between 2-5 psi of boost, feels like its just plain dragging. I leaned the mixture out a few weeks ago, then this started happening just recently. Just FYI, my car has never been officially "tuned" on the dyno or anything, just running a lindsey chip, maf and manual boost control set to 18 psi.

Thanks again guys
