Title pretty much explains it. From what I've heard, in the past few years the price of these engines has gone up. How true is that? I'll be in the market to buy one within the next month or so and wanted to get an idea of what a fair price is. I just found an engine with 67K miles on it and the guy wants $3,300 for it. Seems a little steep to me, what do you guys think?

I bought a rebuilt motor with supposedly 14k miles on it from DC Auto for $2500 and the engine had no evidence of being rebuilt. The block or head had to have been cracked. I started it and all the bearings were making bad noise so I drained all the oil out to find a bunch of coolant in the oil pan. Do Not Buy Anything From DC AUTO! Their 90 warranty consisted of refusing to take the motor back and only refunding $1400. I got screwed big time.

Lart knows the price it will fetch. Too high and he sits on them. Too low and he only eats 1 meal a day.
On the other hand, there is a limit to what the market will pay for even a rebuilt, given the viability of LS conversions. They aren't for me, but I can see the appeal.
