I did get the car home; 22miles without touching the clutch, lol.
Thanks Dana for following me back I owe you a beer!
Bummer...glad you made it home.

I got spooked after 5 runs without a problem...then the other two had problems...and a car blew oil all over the track.

I took those as signs to not run anymore for the night.

Sid's car is back-up, he managed to make at least one run...

My thought is the PP broke, and will not let go of the clutch disc. I've had nothing but trouble with this KEP stg II... So, I will be replacing it with a different setup.

let me know what setup you're going to next. when i move into my new house i'll finally have room to change out the clutch, which is in october.
I'm surprised what i think is a stock clutch isn't slipping at all during shifts.

Josh, Sid, Dana, anyone else whoe is reading this, No kidding, If there is anyway I can get you guys to come down here to hang out for a long weekend, let me know. I have trucks, a trailer, A fabrication shop, and a dyno at my disposal for little or no money at all. Houston raceway park is a blast, but so is Hennesy's drag strip since they have a much more relaxed disposition.

I know my debates come out wrong and at the wrong time often enough, but it truly doesn't describe how I am in person. Drinks are on me. The Dyno cost wouldn't be any more than $35 for 3 runs since I am friends with the owner.

We have a pretty large 951 Crowd here in Houston too. I think they have all converted to V8's.. but we're here! Eclou, and Schupbach and I. Many other Rennlister's here also. You wouldn't believe the car scene here. It's flat out ridiculous.

Dead serious, offer's on the table.

Bruce - I'm sure Sid would agree that we would love to come hang-out... just have to figure out the times.
And also, there isn't any hard feelings over discussions. We all want to be right, some are just more right than others ;p

ROFL.. ^^^^ that's the exact humor/honesty I want to see when/if you guys get a chance to come down.

I know tonight was probably kinda tough with the breakage. Fun gets a little stressful when that sorta stuff happens. I wish I were there to offer a hand on the clutch fix.

Interesting Sid broke the Drivers side ... Again. Even with the bracing. Wow he must be launching kinda hard? I'm wondering if there is a better fix for this driver's side axle. I don't remember what kind of brace he was using / made.

Broke the fork maybe?

How close is this track to downtown Denver?

Yeah, breaking stuff sucks... but thats what gin is for

Sid's broken axle was new too. But he was running 315 drag-radials... so I'm sure he was putting some toque on the driveline.
I don't remember what he was using for bracing either - he will have to chime in.

Na - I've broken two forks already, and know what it feels like... The clutch feels very 'normal' (normal for a KEP II anyway). But now, it will not dis-engage.

99% sure what the problem is, and it means I'm doing a clutch job.

Bandimere is ~16miles from downtown Denver.

Hmmm...next time I'm out there i may have to take a look.

Is the KEPII responsible for both broken forks?

I believe so. The KEP II is simply too heavy of a PP. The other factor is I believe the fork isn't exactly parallel with the engine, causing one finger to be put under greater load than the other (both forks broke on the same finger).

If you come out - let us know!
