Got my wiring issue fixed, I had swapped the harness between the alternator and the starter. Cranked it a bit until I saw some oil pressure then put the DME relay back in. Started immediately . A little chatter for a few seconds then everything sounded great. I just let it purr for a bit. Man the sound was so sweet. Good oil pressure. Even my leak seemed to almost stop at the coolant ear. Thanks to all who helped me, especially Blown944, Rogue, Lart, Josh B, and ChrisJ951. Here is the first start video:

Been following your thread like many -congrats! I had the same problem with the cometic, I think it was TonyG that originally sleuthed out a poor design on the gaskets at that corner years ago. So they still havent corrected that flaw yet? I tried RTV and it still leaked externally (only) until a WFHG put a stop to it. Good luck and thx for the post

Quite an adventure fore sure. Soon it will be time to see what it can do. Going to have to get some miles on this thing this weekend.

I am going to call LR today and talk to Dave about the Cometic. I read it was fixed. Maybe I got an old gasket. It leak seems so have considerably slowed down. I am going to drive it a bit and see what happens.

It is right up at the top for sure. Thanks for taking my calls with endless questions. Last night I started making plans for a second generation motor. A true beast. Here we go again...

Thanks. My wife is very encouraging which is amazing considering how much time I have spent working on it.
