You know that the person who put that back together did the whole engine. It could be fine. But do you want to go through the trouble if it could be bad?

at the very least check the rod bearings. I wouldnt be hard to take the head off also. You might be glad you did.


You paid for a rebuilt engine but looks like you got one straight from the junk yard.

I'm glad it has a 90 day warranty. I'm afraid I have purchased a junk motor.

If you dont mind me asking How much did you pay for the engine and did you compare that to pulling the engine and sending it to a reputable builder? Could that have been close in cost?

$2,500 for the motor. Here is some more photos. They sent me another oil pan and gasket. The oil pan looked great on the outside, but looked very sludgy on the inside...and no hole for the return line from the turbo, for an NA 944. I put the old oil pan back on and started to put the flywheel/clutch/pressure plate back on and one of my new bolts broke before it torqued to spec. My project is a mess now. More photos
