Once again I've blown my throttle body/hard pipe connection at another track day....3rd time now....
I was initially going to go with just the silicon connectors but thought I'd get some feedback on the complete hard pipe kit. Really want to put an end to this nuisance...Thanks

the flange on the TB is pretty narrow. I suggest that you make sure the flange and rubber are clean, wipe em both down with brakekleen and get a good clamp that you can really torque down on. The first time I blew that hose I thought my motor blew. Loud boom and throttle went dead. Yikes!!

Good advice, I've always liked those clamps that have the removable plastic tab on em, lets you get a better grip on it then a screwdriver would and really put some torque on it. Just make sure you get good quality clamps and make sure they are on straight, not crooked.

I don't know that new hard pipes really help blow-off all that much other than most people that upgrade the pipes also install new silicone hoses and good clamps.
If you aren't going for looks, and you don't care about the extra 1/8" diameter of new hard pipes, just pick up a good set of silicone hoses and t-bolt clamps. They won't blow off again.

The one and only time i blew the coupler off it was because i hadnt put the clamps on carefully and was running 18psi. This was using the LR hardpipes.
As mentioned, the throttlebody lip is pretty narrow so you need to make sure its seated right. Plus, you really gotta use something better than the typical hose clamp. Either t-bolt or what i prefer which are the Norma stepless screw clamps. Use a nut driver to tighten also, flat tip screwdrivers dont cut it.
I like the Norma clamps because the band is like 1/4 of that of a t-bolt. So much easier to put on tight spaces like the throttle body. They are also a bit lower profile compared to the typical t-bolt clamp so you have more clearance specifically around the headight bar for the inlet at the intercooler. You can also really crank down on these without fear of stripping the worm drive like on a standard clamp.

Here you can see it fits really well over the throttle body inlet, pay no mind to that standard Norma worm drive clamp..those were all replaced

One thing to do is to clean all the oil off the inside an outside of the hose/mating surface before you clamp them. I use brake cleaner on both surfaces every time. It make a world of difference in the bond.

Thanks to all!!!! I truly appreciate the feedback as I wind my way through the 951 experience...![thumbsup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bigok.gif)
I'll stick to ordering the silicon couplings and some monster clamps for now.....Lart, where can I get that setup????
