Funny story, I would call my siblings and I fortunate. My parents had a bit of money growing up but we weren't snotty brats, all had jobs in HS, etc. but when it came time for my twin brother and I to get cars in 1990 we sat down with my parents, my dad immediately said " No Porsche's, no Vette's", he knew exactly what we had wanted, a 944 turbo for me and a vette for my brother. Fast forward now 22 years, I'm on my 3rd and final 944 Turbo and my brother is on vette number 6 or 7.

Thought I would start with the nicest XJ I could find.....and build it the way I wanted.

I think that package gives you the better transfer case (with the full time option) as my previous XJ did not have it. My plans were to intall a 4" lift with some Rubicon wheel/tire takeoffs and a rear mount tire carrier (sort of an XJ Rubicon) but instead just enjoy it like it is. VERY limited off road opportunies here though I've been to a few places. Had a blast pulling people out of ditvches and up hills when we had ice and snow (none this year!).

The kiddo likes it too..

How cool. In high school I was definitely that kid with the gigantic turbo (T3/T4) on a Saturn SL2 with a loud exhaust and neon lights in the interior. Oh boy, these were dark days.
Just keep hugging their necks and hanging out with em!

That's a lot of speed for a young guy. I remember when I had a Sentra SE-R in high school. I thought that was so fast.

wow...now that SCREAMS 80's!

my first car (1978) was a 70' Dart Swinger 340 with a 4speed and the "Scat Pack", quickest car in High School despite everyone thinking the rich kid with the 429 Boss was fastest (beat him everytime!).

NOT mine...my car was yellow with ET mags:

Aw c'mon Doug -- I daily drove mine for about five years, through college and beyond -- and this was back in southern AZ! I tell you though, I became very familiar with pushing the poor cooling system's limits....

Love it -- my dad had three Darts over the years, and i have a buddy with one. Nowadays they're a less expensive muscle car that doesn't have to be as ubiquitous as a nova/mustang.

I've always loved Darts and mid '60s Novas. But can Darts be made to handle, or do they, you know, just go in a straight line like their namesake?

I had a lifted 93' F250 to drive in HS. not too much lift..just right. On the weekends when my dad would leave to visit his girlfriend in another state... it was time for the mustang gt, 52' M38A1 CJ-5, or the Bandit 1200S...Great times.
