Default Wheel fitment

Has anyone run 18" wheels in either 9.5" ET 56 or 9" ET 50 with 275 width tries on a late offset 944 and know for sure that they will fit? Thx ,H

I ran 52 with 9.5x 18's. I ran 255/35/18 tires. I could definitely get away with up to 285 rear. I believe I could have done the same on the fronts.

I am running
235/40 ZR 18 8X50et front
295/30 ZR 18 11X45et rear

I did have to roll the rear fenders.

You should be able to get yours to fit.

I ran 18"x10" et 60 Enkeis all round with 275 Nitto NT01s. Fitted easily on the rears and had front guards rolled.

Hal,
Pressley and Harry King are both running late offset 18's. Check with them. Paul P. might be running them also.

Also, I forgot, but I had issues trying to mount 285's on a 9.5 inch wheel. Depending on the tire, some sidewalls just won't work. YMMV.

Mine are 65mm offset, though. There is a little clearance, 285's, not sure if there is that much. I do assume the camber will be similar. Anders Ryden has my car right now, if you could get downtown (off Howell Mill), you could take a look at it.

Good think Hal P isn't around for this one......

With 275mm section width tire, on a late offset hub, ET 56 on 9.5in rim would work. Tires vary slightly in the actual width once mounted so YMMV. Remember, on the non turbo s, regardless of year, the front and rear fenders were not "rolled" from the factory. That's why most would have to roll the fenders to run 285+ in the rears where as with 265s or 275s on 9 or 10 in wide rims would be ok assuming the ET is in the ball park of course. You will gain more clearance towards the outside when rolled as some have mentioned so you can run 295mm+ on 11in. wheels in the back. On turbo S and all 89 turbos came with rolled fenders combined with high offset 60-65mm, you can run some seriously wide rubber in the back with little or no additional rolling. Most run narrower tires in the front so the offset is not that big of an issue as a spacer will correct things as well as neg camber, but obviously ET also has to be within acceptable range for it to work.
