FYI, one of the front fenders and the front bumper off your 968 came up for sale on the San Fransisco Craig's List a couple days ago. I have the driver side fender off your car which I obtained for my 968 3.0L turbo race car project - which I just decided to abandon after assembling all the necessary parts to build it - so it also may be available! I also have the fibreglass intercooler entry/exit ducting which I molded off factory 968 Turbo S parts. Let me know if interested.

Still not sure what I want to do for body parts. I'm thinking I might go fiberglass. I will keep you in mind though.

Easier to haul to the scrapper. You can hardly give away good 944 shells, let alone one with a branded title. So I had some fun with the sawzall Somebody might want the rear quarters for a project, so I'll probably list those for sale. It'll be a long winter, aiming for spring. At least in Seattle I have until July until it's nice!

Have you ever taken any temp readings with that IC?

Nope, have only run the car for <1hr sitting in the driveway. Might do something different once I get a 968 bumper and have an idea of how much room I have.

Well after the whole debacle with this shell and Matt, I've decided I am going to pick up vette951's 968 shell and get rid of the current one. Should be a much better platform for me and allow me to get the car on the road sooner. Picking it up in a few weeks. Now to get rid of the current shell...

As for other work...
Round 1 of degreasing:

Also contemplating paint schemes. White/Red clubsport theme has been my plan from the get-go, but since I'll be painting in the interior after stripping and painting new body parts it wouldn't be much more work to change colors. Want to stick with factory options for the 968 though. Here's some ideas I've been thinking of.

White/Red CS

Signal Green

Maritime? Blue or Speed Yellow (wouldn't do the matching wheels though)

Always had a soft sport for Orange too, painted my 931 orange.

Why don't you build a 3.0 for that, or at least a stroker 2.8?

Speed yellow all the way.

I saw this orange car up close, nice but a bit too much IMO.

Stock engine for now, when I blow that up I will be doing a 20V I5. The Porsche motors aren't worth the $$$ for the power they make IMO.

Ain't that the truth. It's a badass project man and something I considered doing myself at one point. Vette951 is good people. Glad you were able to source what you needed from a trustworthy source. I'll definitely be watching your project. Consider me a fan.

I have, and they are impressive. They are cheaper than the conventional 3.0L builds, but I believe you can make more power cheaper and on pump-gas with an I5 than you will with any Porsche based build. Still keeps it within the family, so it's not "total sacrilege". And if you blow it up, you can get a new sub-60k mile engine at any local junkyard for ~$400.
