Just saw a 968 today with the 951 IC mounted forward under the bumper cover. Looked like it would need the bumper opened up more for airflow, but they were able to keep the stock latch. We'll see what I come up with when I get there. Gotta find some body panels first!

Very nice project. I put here some 968 Turbo pictures i have collected from various places. Hope they can help you in some details.

I should have some closeup pictures of 968 Turbo hood latches & naca duct structure (inside). I put them here as soon as i find them

I've been wanting to do the same thing for a while. Except I'm starting with a running 968 and I've been gathering 951 drivetrain parts. I need to make the time and do it!

Should be a fun project, with an awesome result.

We are going to do it with a friend of mine next winter. His 968 will be converted to 3.0L turbo. He's a purist, so it will be a 8V (already have a brand new 2.7L head for this project). Friend have collected all necessary turbo parts for some time. Most of the pieces are already in his garage.

Drivetrain and suspension are dropped. Now to separate it and start stripping the interior.

not sure how ive missed this for so long! this is EXACTLY what i want to do. well except like arash, i have a running 968 and ive been gathering parts. i started out with quite a few parts from my 951 semi-part out though. its hard getting the ball rolling when the 968 is fine to begin with though.

keep us updated Alex and ill just live vicariously through you for now!

I'm thinking this is more a great candidate for a track car. In which case I'd prepare to make other changes while you've got the shell in a stripped condition rather than put more stuff on it only to take it off in the future. Good time to get rid of all the insulation for example.

Yeah, pretty sure that's the direction I am going to take it. Strip all the insulation and glue and paint it. Not going to do a cage just yet though.

Basically if you're not going to create a really nice road car, and you don't want to race on the street, then you'll wind up building a track oriented car anyway.

Well a cage came up locally so I traded some spare wheels for it. Guess I am going down that slope

What's left of the 951:

968 is finally in the garage, a long road ahead:
