Default WTB > Drivers side door handle and locking mechanism

WTB

Drivers door handle and complete locking mechanism.

Mine broke. I can't open the door from the outside. Not sure what piece is broken since I'm not familiar with it so I'm looking to buy the whole thing :-)

If you have one please pm me with cost shipped to 91321.

Thanks,

TonyG

Usually the finger portion breaks inside ( metal fatigue) If the handle feels easy to pull or the good old rod breaks at the top near the eye hole . If you still need one pm me .

The handle feels easy to pull like its not engaging what ever it's supposed to engage. I took off the door panel and looked but couldn't see what's broken.

You need to take off the plastic access panel on the trailing edge of the door and look up in there with a flashlight.

It's possible one of the linkages either popped off or broke. Those are cheap and fairly easy to replace.

remove the srew on the back of the handle ...slide it forward then back, and out , easy view down you should see the white locking bar then the opening rod .

I need a passenger handle if anyone has one. My lever snapped...door is currently hard to open close. You really have to give it a push to get it to close which isn't awful but you really have to squeeze the handle hard to open the door thus the reason it snapped.

(Just had door off for paint, I can't seem to get it to open easier..any tips?)

Well I do know it has to do with the alignment of the door. It is aligned just how I want it as far as the panel is concerned but there might be slight binding towards the front of the door. That or the striker needs adjusting but I've looked and as far as I can tell it seems fine. My body guy and I looked at it for a while so I may have to get another professional opinion.
