Your right Lart. Sounded goos for a minute. If bottom end needs rebuild I might go 2.8 maybe.Dan said #2 bearing went, waitting to hear cost. I might just put her up for a year and just start over. Kinda mad at myself for not stressing "check whole car" strongly enough. Could have done rebuild and some of the stuff I got. When everything seemed to be going well, I dipped into budget for extra stuff. Now the wife is involed,NO WAY she is gonna let me just keep throwing $ down the drain.

My motor going is what made me go for the 2.8. I always try to uprgade when things break or go bad especially if it is more cost effective to upgrade or go bigger vs. just replacing with stock.
What details did Dan give??

Said it was #2 bearing, that's about it. Ok,I'm trying to get 300rwhp out of car as safe as possible, please help me plan. I'm thinking 2.8,what's needed? What turbo will provide my needs w/out going past 15psi? What other changes are needed? I Do Not want a high strung/ stressed out race car! Just a nice 951,no 450hp monster.

where is the dyno sheet,? Didn't you paid for the dyno too? Aren't you entitled to see them?

So replace the bearings and she'll be good to go. Honestly not a huge deal.
Or, go for a full build, spend a lot more money, and wait a long time. And you'll be stuck with an angry wife and a car pumping out a modest 300hp that IMO didn't need the full build to begin with.
Or, like Joka said you could do the wrenching yourself and save a lot of money but undoubtedly spend more time. Oh and you'll still most likely have an angry wife.

Man, this is not a fun thread to read. I hate it when someone has this kind of P car experience. Looking back probably should have bought later model, less complicated P car if knew going to drop this much into it anyhow ( that 20/20 hind sight deal). Might make this one a project and really do it right, get another dealer maintained something for DD.
Sort of went that way but didn't plan to in the beginning. Been on the 951 about 3.5 years (getting close) but got impatient when had the chance and got a Cayman. 951 I and a buddy do all the stuff, Cayman goes to the dealer. Hobby vs transportation. Sorry it went this way, but will end up all good if stay with it.
