Well fingers are crossed for ya... been there, done that - just with a cheaper car (old Shelby-Dodges, hence my screenname.) At some point after the nth catastrophic failure you just say "F it" and cut your losses. Hopefully in your case it's something simple.

I know the feeling. You just have to step back a moment or two and rethink things when you take a break.
For that amount of money I have to assume you've had the engine rebuilt? So they should pull the pan and see what's in there. Hopefully it's just bearings and they caught it before major damage. Many of us have had these sort of disappointments and know the feeling of frustration you're going through. At least find out what happened. Should be an easy fix.

I was wondering when Patrick would see this thread. P5th, look at it this way: Patrick's got it way worse than you do my friend.

(Sorry to get all shadenfreude on you, Patrick.)

It's all relative Collin. I'm sure the guy feels really bad at the moment. I've had plenty of other disappointments along the way and each one is a pisser!

ps I'll get back to you on those other emails. Just a bit head muddled at the moment.

I don't know any backstory, but if the shop did all the work, there should be some sort of warranty. At least I would think so.

Hopefully there is.... I don't think he got a engine rebuild though from the look of that 20k reciept, but hopefully they'll do something since he had so much done in work.

If they replaced rod bearings, then metal particulate in the oil is somewhat normal. RE: vibrations, that can come from any number of things not pertaining to engine failure. Lets hope that it isn't anything major.

Altho if the engine isn't in good shape from the beginning, then modifying it without going thru it is just asking for trouble.

Hey! Been there numerous times to include right now. Lol. Asking myself when is enough enough?!? . My just brought home car from the shop and the new starter is shot. It was a no name brand and with the 2.8 need a high tq which I just ordered. But before I realized it was, I am pretty sure, the starter I hear lots of clanking and grinding and wouldn't turn over. So at first I f'n flipped! Then realized it is probably just the starter and not the motor.

And I remember IMA has a 1 year warranty on their parts and labor for street cars.
