I have seen this before a washer are bolt is stuck in there. If that isnt what cause it then your cam probably failed which IMO isn't likely. You will never know till you take it apart.

I need to pull my cam tower and do this too. My recently very clean engine now has oil & grime on the head under the intake manifold and a film of oil down the exhaust side too, and have a constant burning oil smell. It's just a slow ooze, and it's just enough to be frustrating.

This rebuilt keeps getting more and more fun. Drove the car to work today. Noticed oil on the ground under the front of the engine. Got home and found the fround the front cam O ring is leaking

The belts come off for the 4th time

One day I'll get to the interior. Got some nice sport seats to install

Yes, post #63 (I'm sure they are all starting to blur right about now...)

Sorry to hear about the cam seal leak. I remember pulling my turbo again 2 weeks after installing it... I had it out in 3.5 hours! Practice makes perfect.
